Cora Rusk was born in Brown Twp., on Oct 24, 1866. The years of her childhood were spent in the father's home under the guidance of loving parents in a quiet and humble place. There she grew to womanhood amid the usual perplexities and anxieties incident to human lives, but knowing no stain in after years. Like a nun with her rosary she counted one by one her childhood memories, which seemed to be held together by the golden thread of her mother's love. As we review her useful life we have a feeling of unshed tears in our throats. Whether it was the joyous smile of greeting over the cradle or in the end when loved ones sailed the uncharted seas and were lost to mortal gaze, she bore the burdens of her friends in the heart of their days. She gave of herself abundantly when ever called upon. By industry and good management she accumulated of this world's good sufficiently to meet the needs of those last days. In the last months of her life, by serious affliction mentally incapacitated for the strenous realities of life she seemed to see life blindly - as if she herself were out of it, but her strong sense of right never failed-that priceless possession, strong and quiet, never clouded the main issues of life with any unkindness. We lay her body to rest with sweet memories. She was daughter of William and Mary Ellen Rusk. She died in Indianapolis, Tuesday morning, May 28th. She leaves two sisters: Mrs. Rhoda Barbee of Terre Haute and Mrs. Allie Kessner of Howard; and two brothers, Sannford Rusk of Mansfield, Oh; and Ellsworth Rusk of Judson; also two half brothers, George Rusk of Browns Valley and Baltus Rusk of Guion.
